I found out I was pregnant in March 2005 and although it was a shock we were so happy and could not wait for the arrival of our precious baby due in November.

I kept well just the usual aches and pains until Saturday 6th July i started having very mild crampy pains not long after getting up in the morning.I tried to put it out my head and we carried on the day as normal. That night i had a bath and the pain settled so i went to bed and woke up at 5am Sunday the 7th August with the same pain as the day before. I went into the hospital around 2pm on the Sunday afternoon with the pain still very mild however was told i was 2cm dilated. We spent that night on a drip to stop my labour. The next day although i had no further pain i was 4cm dilated and we continued on the drip to try and stop my labour however at 5am on Tuesday 9th August my waters broke. I had a scan and a nice strong heartbeat was seen however the labour was longer than it should have been and our precious wee baby was born at 0955hrs in a very poor condition requiring 4 doses of adrenaline to get his heart started. He was transferred to the NNU and was ventilated however the Consultant told us that he was having seizures and his brain scan was very poor and did not show a very good outcome. We were told that our wee man would not survive and we were left with no option but to switch his ventilator off. We had him baptised and our family visited him however our son Christopher Iain Daly died after a very short 12 hour life.
